Camille Smith

My work's theme is largely related to Cajun ingredients and southern motifs that I choose to memorialize. Growing up in Texas, my work is inspired by Mexican pottery and decorative talavera designs. I am also heavily inspired by swampy southern animals, specifically alligators and other motifs like fleur-de-lis to represent my Cajun-French culture. I recently have been using my surface decoration onto more functional pieces like gumbo bowls and soup ladles.
