Deb Dixon

My work is primarily wheel-thrown stoneware and porcelain, with occasional explorations into hand-building. I enjoy incorporating natural elements such as reed and bamboo, allowing organic materials to complement the clay’s form and texture. Carving has become a particular passion of mine. The rhythmic, deliberate process feels meditative. Through carving, I’m able to reveal depth, movement, and quiet detail within each thrown form.

Though I do not have formal training in ceramics, I have found my creative niche in clay. My passion continues to grow as I refine my skills and embrace the lifelong process of learning. For many years, working with clay provided a precious balance to my professional life in the IT industry—a grounding, tactile counterpoint to the digital world.
