Martfoot Made Clay Goods is a small batch pottery studio celebrating the collaborative clay journey shared between Katie and Matt Martin Lightfoot. Their work is a reflection of their partnership, creativity, and love for exploring the world. Each piece is crafted with care and intention in their home studio. Matt throws on the pottery wheel, which shapes the foundation of many of their pieces and offers Katie a blank canvas to create. Katie hand-builds pieces from slabs, utilizes sculptural techniques, and hand carves clay. She adds her whimsical touch through glaze, color, and design to each piece, bringing each creation to life with character and charm. Each piece is a labor of love as they follow their clay goods along their journeys from starting as a lump of clay to a fired, finished piece. Their clay goods include both functional and decorative pieces that celebrate nature, whimsy, and identity! They hope our clay goods evoke feelings of home, togetherness, and joy!
