Katie Palomares first fell in love with clay as a therapeutic outlet at a young age and likes to think of herself as a “mud enthusiast.” Dancing between wheel-thrown and handbuilt forms, her work reflects her desert roots, seeking the peaceful feeling of wide-open landscapes while layering in playful details through carving and glaze accents inspired by folk art and doodles. Beyond her own practice, Katie is passionate about inviting others into the world of clay through hands-on workshops, where participants can discover the joy of slowing down, creating, and getting a little messy.
