MARIAN WILLIAMS POTTERY

Artist’s Statement

My current focus is Sculpture, and the use of innovative materials and techniques,
and alternative firing methods, such as Raku.

I have exhibited my work in many prestigious venues and competitions and have published work in Ceramics Monthly. My work has been featured in craft and home publications.

My ceramic practice is rooted in a lifelong relationship with clay – one that formally began in a ceramics class at Baylor University.

Since then, my studios have evolved alongside my life and I’m now back to a studio in the Texas Hill Country.

Along the way, I have learned from the best –Randy Brodnax, Mark Epstein, Malcolm Greenwood, Lisa Clague, Marcia Selsor, and many more.

My blog, Marian Williams Pottery: A Love Affair With Clay gives me a way of sharing my knowledge and journey with clay to the clay community.

Refining my skills and creating sculptures that are unique and intriguing are my current focus.
