Hi, my name is Nydia and I am a visual artist from Progreso Texas, now based in Austin.

My studio practice explores the relationship between function, ornamentation, and cultural memory through the lens of Mexican American identity. I am interested in how ceramic objects hold cultural meaning through their form, decoration, and material.
